Letters From Sugarwood

Letters from Sugarwood began as an idea while revisiting a box of childhood treasures my mother saved over the years. Inside were handwritten letters from my grandmother, reminding me of the joy of writing and receiving a letter from a loved one or a friend. In that box, I even discovered letters I had written to myself marked “to read later”. Those were hysterical to read as an adult.

Those letters, along with two commonplace journals my grandmother created then gifted me, my own journals, and the thoughtful letters and cards that have arrived from Kindred Spirits all over the world, became the inspiration for this new offering.

Through Letters from Sugarwood, I'll be connecting with Kindred Spirits through their mailbox rather than a screen, sharing fine yet simple pleasures, old world traditions, and everyday moments that make life so special.

Each envelope will include a personal letter from me, along with inspiration to celebrate the season, a holiday, or a simple moment in time. Depending on the letter, there may be keepsakes, recipes, quotes, homemaking inspiration, soul and body pampering ideas, journaling prompts, and other little surprises tucked inside.

Some letters might create a moment of quiet reflection or everyday life motivation, while others might celebrate the beauty and nostalgia of the season, with the hope of inspiring its recipient to create their own version of fine living at home, no matter how simple or grand that may be.

This inaugural offering includes four curated letters to choose from: Autumn, Halloween, Christmas, and Winter, and will be mailed to Kindred Spirits around the world, wherever postal service allows.

Should one of my letters and find its way to your mailbox, I hope opening the envelope and pulling out what’s inside, feels like your hearing from an old friend.
