Vintage Two-Tone Stoneware Bean Pot with Lid

A wonderful piece of traditional kitchenware, this vintage stoneware bean pot has the substantial shape and simple coloring associated with old-fashioned New England cooking.

The generously sized pot features a warm brown glazed upper portion contrasted against a creamy stoneware base, with two sturdy handles and its original fitted lid. The classic shape immediately brings to mind a pot of baked beans slowly cooking for a Saturday night supper, but today it is just as lovely displayed on an open kitchen shelf, tucked into a pantry, or used as part of a collection of vintage stoneware and pottery.

At approximately 9 1/2 inches in diameter and 7 1/2 inches high, this is a particularly nice larger size with plenty of presence. It is unmarked, so we cannot attribute it to a particular maker or give it an exact date, but it is a genuine vintage piece rather than a modern reproduction.

In wonderful vintage condition, especially for a utilitarian piece of this kind, with no chips or cracks noted. As with all vintage pottery, minor variations and signs of age may be present and are part of its character.
